Three Wesley College Cannon Scholars attended the Inspiring Women in STEM Conference held on November 15 at the DuPont Country Club, Wilmington, DE. Ariel Bilbrough, Destiny Hollis and Andreanna Jeffries participated in the full-day event featuring forward-thinking presentations, informative panel discussions, audience participation exercises, and fun networking activities.
“The Inspiring Women in STEM Conference gave me an insight into the vast struggles and hurdles that women may (or may not) come across within the work place, and how to deal with those specific hurdles,” said Bilbrough. “Upon listening to the guest speakers, and other attendees of the conference, I also realized that there is an incredible amount of different careers that I could pursue within the field of STEM.”
“The conference was an amazing event and opportunity,” said Hollis. “Attending this conference has taught me so much but most importantly motivated me to keep achieving my goals and to strive and have grit.”
The registration costs of the conference were funded through the Delaware IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence(INBRE) program.
