Dr. Malcolm D'SouzaWesley College Professor of Chemistry and Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary/Collaborative Sponsored Research Dr. Malcolm D’Souza co-authored a peer-reviewed article in the Special Issue Solution Chemical Kinetics of the International Journal of Molecular Science (IJMS). The article, “Mechanistic Studies of the Solvolyses of Carbamoyl Chlorides and Related Reactions,” summarizes the previously published solution studies of the rates and products of this class of compound with several studies conducted by undergraduate researchers. Carbamoyl Chlorides are chemical building blocks used to produce highly desirable pharmaceutical and agrochemical products.
