Mahmoud earns Delaware’s American Chemical Society-Section Award

Osama Mahmoud, a resident of Dover, earned the 2020 Delaware American Chemical Society (ACS)-Section Award. In May 2020, Osama graduated with a degree in biological chemistry and is a medical program student at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. The National ACS-Division of Organic Chemistry also recognized Osama for his undergraduate phosgene chemistry work with Dr. Malcolm J. D’Souza, professor of chemistry and dean of interdisciplinary sponsored research. As an undergraduate, Osama excelled academically and was a center defensive midfield soccer player for Wesley during his junior and senior years. Osama was a Cannon Scholar, a chemistry tutor, and a founding member of the Science Club.
