What to Bring
Common items to bring to the Residence Halls
- Refrigerator (must be a “mini-fridge” of about 3.3 cubic feet or less)
- Linens (see below)*
- Shower bucket and supplies, towels
- Shower Shoes
- Hair dryer
- Laundry basket and materials, quarters for laundry ($1.50/wash and $150/dry a load)
- Cleaning products for room
- Microwavable or paper plates/cups/silverware
- Can opener
- School supplies
- Dictionary/Thesaurus
- Memo Board (for door)
- Radio/Stereo
- Alarm Clock
- Fan
- Umbrella
- Flashlight
- First-aid kit
- Small area rug
- TV/Radio
- Hangers
- Posters
- Coax cable for Comcast cable TV
- RJ45 Ethernet Cable (if bringing a personal computer)
- Surge protector for the electrical outlets
- Security cable for laptop or desktop workstation
- 3M Products or Painters Tape
*Important Bedding Information
The beds and mattresses in the Residence Halls are sized as follows:
- Carpenter and Roe Hall – Extra Long Twin (Twin XL)
- Malmberg, and Zimmerman Halls – Standard Twin
*Note: Most stores carry Twin XL sheets. We recommend NOT purchasing your linens until AFTER you receive your official residence hall assignment.
Common items NOT permitted in the Residence Halls
- Microwaves
- Space heaters
- Hot plates/Hot pots, toaster ovens, toasters, George Foreman grills
- Immersion coils for mugs/cups
- Waterbeds or other large water holding items
- Unlawful extension cords (must be power strips with surge suppression)
- Pets (None of any kind!)
- Weapons
- Cinder Blocks, illegal material for making bed lofts
- Duct Tape
- ALL Illegal Substances
