Wesley College biological chemistry student Lily Neff was one of twenty-six Wesley students recently selected for a summer internship through an online grant application process. Neff has received an additional $5,000 tuition award towards her summer placement from NASA and the Delaware Space Grant Consortium (DESGC) to continue her research in Wesley’s laboratory. Professor of Chemistry and Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary/Collaborative Sponsored Research Dr. Malcolm D’Souza and Adjunct Chemistry Professor/ Laboratory Supervisor Kris Roeske will mentor her during her internship. Neff will create an online portal system for chemical and hazardous material inventory, storage, and management.
The student interns are required to register for a one credit directed research or senior thesis course. Student interns paid by Wesley are required to present a culminating research poster on Aug. 11 at the University of Delaware (UD) undergraduate research poster symposium.
The NASA DE Space Grant Undergraduate Tuition Award was provided through the NASA DESGC (Delaware Space Grant College) program funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration under grant number NNX15AI19H.
