More than 15 students and two chaperones left campus on March 2 and return on March 10. Students took the course “Modern Asia” during the semester, which has a travel component during their spring break. This is a faculty-led course with Assistant Professor of History Ethan Hawkley and Assistant Professor of History Dr. Stephanie Holyfield.
Highlights of the visit include the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace in Beijing, rickshaw tour in Hutong, a bike ride on the ancient City Wall and dinner with a local family, to name a few.
The travel was scheduled through Education First College Study Tours, which are faculty-led study abroad programs designed to encourage the curriculum and studies to compliment one another during the excursion.
