Assistant Professor of English and Religion

Why I Teach

To lead people to those moments where they either think of something they hadn’t thought of before, or learn to look at something in a new way. Those are the moments that can change us.

Professional Activities

Current interests:

I am currently collaborating with Dr. Jeffrey on an introductory New Testament textbook, based on our teaching experiences. Some of my other research interests include examining the “re-presentation” of Christianity in a nominally Christian culture through literary and visual media, and the interaction of religion with aspects of popular culture (such as sports and social media).
