Parent/Guardian S.O.A.R. and W.O.W.

S.O.A.R.

We are delighted that your student has chosen to attend Wesley College and hope that you are able to attend S.O.A.R. (Summer Orientation and Academic Registration) with them when a special program for parents/guardians has been scheduled. S.O.A.R. registration opens at 8 a.m. in the College Center Lobby, with lunch provided.

The S.O.A.R. program is designed to give parents and guardians the valuable information needed to assist in the transition from parenting a high school student to guiding a college student. Because your information needs differ from your student’s, the Parent/Guardian S.O.A.R. schedule will be personalized for what parents have told us they want to know.

Parents/guardians will have specific presentations answering these questions, including opportunities to meet with representatives from Financial Aid, Residence Life, Academic Support and other areas of the College community. Placing parents/guardians in focus groups away from incoming students offers opportunities to address specific questions and concerns you may have about Wesley College.

The day will conclude at 4 p.m. after optional tours.

W.O.W.

WOW (Windows On Wesley) is a three-day program that takes place in August immediately prior to the beginning of classes. Incoming students are REQUIRED to participate in this program, which is a continuation of SOAR. There is no additional fee for Continuing Orientation as the initial Admissions fee covers the cost of both parts of Orientation.

New students will be able to move into their residence hall rooms prior to the start of the WOW program. Students living on-campus will receive their fall housing assignment and specific move-in information from the Office of Residence Life by the first week of August. If you have not received your housing assignment by that date, please contact Residence Life at (302) 736-2506.

All first-year transfer or commuting students are required to attend all three days of WOW. All meals will be provided during WOW for commuter students who do not have a meal plan for the fall semester.

If an incoming student is participating in a fall sport, the respective coach for that team will have information regarding required pre-season activities.
During WOW, students will attend a series of programs and events designed to transition from high school to college as well as orient you to Wesley College.
