Orientation & First Year Experience

Welcome to Orientation!

If you have paid your confirmation deposit, you will receive a packet by mail with the login and password to use MyWesley and register for S.O.A.R. Register for your S.O.A.R. date by completing the Academic Interest Inventory in MyWesley. Questions? Please contact Office of Admissions at 302.736.2400.

Orientation consists of two parts:

  1. S.O.A.R. – Summer Orientation and Academic Registration
    Spring Orientation and Academic Registration
  2. W.O.W. – Windows On Wesley

Participation in S.O.A.R. and W.O.W. are mandatory for new first year and transfer students, although S.O.A.R. can be completed online in some cases. See the Academic Interest Inventory for the exceptions.

W.O.W.

W.O.W. is a three-day program that takes place in August immediately prior to the beginning of classes. Incoming students are REQUIRED to participate in this program, which is a continuation of S.O.A.R. There is no additional fee for Continuing Orientation as the initial Admissions fee covers the cost of both parts of Orientation.

New students will be able to move into their residence hall rooms prior to the start of the W.O.W. program. Students living on-campus will receive their fall housing assignment and specific move-in information from the Office of Residence Life by the first week of August. If you have not received your housing assignment by that date, please contact Residence Life at (302) 736-2506.

All first-year transfer or commuting students are required to attend all three days of W.O.W. All meals will be provided during WOW for commuter students who do not have a meal plan for the fall semester.

If an incoming student is participating in a fall sport, the respective coach for that team will have information regarding required pre-season activities.
