Welcome to the Elementary Education /Special Education (dual certification) Program (EE/SE) at Wesley College. We are pleased that you have chosen teaching as your prospective career and look forward to helping you reach your educational goals. Serving children and families through schooling is a challenging and rewarding profession. The Elementary Education/Special Education Program (EE/SE) provides you with experiences to guide your growth as a learner and as a teacher. You will begin by observing in classrooms and then move on to plan curriculum, teach lessons, and develop relationships with students. Focused experiences with special needs students begin in your sophomore year and continue through the senior year internships.
On this site you will find tools to help you navigate the EE/SE Program from freshman through senior year. A program of study, handbooks, and rubrics are provided for your use. If you have any questions about the resources, please don’t hesitate to contact me or your advisor. We are always happy to help you.
Great things await for you at Wesley College and in the EE/SE Program. We welcome you to join us in the important work of educating students.
*Note: This program has submitted documents seeking national recognition in the fall of 2015 as a new program and is awaiting results.
